           New member Ship & Renewal There of Both The Membership on Annual Basis .

  1. All the documents, papers, testimonials being the new registration pre-requisites shall have to be provided by the new applicant compulsorily.

  2. A Sole Proprietorship firm Limited Company or a Concern shall be eligible for the Membership of the Association provided that the firm or company deals in Exports, & all kind of Precious, Semi Precious stones.

  3. Since the Association has prescribed a comprehensive proforma the new applicant shall be bound to fill it up in all respects otherwise his application shall not be entertained.

  4. An applicant for Membership shall be bound to get the proforma signed by the Proposer and Seconder with their office/official Stamps to be affixed on the specific place of the Form. The Proposer as well the Seconder must be a bonafide member of this Association.

  5. Membership Scrutiny Committee will be fully empowered either to accept or reject the application at its discretion. How ever in case of the approved case the consent of the Executive Committee with simple majority shall be necessary. The Executive Committee of the Association is fully authorized to accept or reject the recommended Membership registration case with out assigning any reason or ground under Clause 6 of the Memorandum and Article of Association. It shall also be appropriate to keep coordination between the Chairman Standing Committee and the Vice Chairman/ Joint Chairman for running the affairs in an efficient and meaningful manner.

  6. National Tax Number (N.T.N) or Tax Registration (T.R) issued by Central Board of Revenue or Local Income Tax office shall be essential for the new applicant.  The Certificate shall be acceptable in Printed Form or as in vogue in the concerned department.

  7. Whereas it is understood that FATA, PATA, Northern Areas including Azad Kashmir, and district of Swat, Chitral, Batagram, Kohistan and Dir are exempted from payment of Income Tax under the Income Tax Ordinance 1979. However, if the Chairman Standing committee Membership wants his satisfaction as to whether the Member concerned is running some business or not, may require the Applicant to produce some proof in writing, to this office from Deputy Commissioner/ D.C.O, District Nazim, Political Agent, or any other administrative authority not below grade 18.

  8. The Applicant shall be bound to produce a fresh Bank reference Certificate (Not old than 3 months). There should be a clear mention by the Bank authorities that the said account of the company is still available with them.

  9. The Membership shall be issued to the concerned applicant on the basis of status and category of N.T.N, e.g. in case of Proprietorship the N.T.N should be issued as individual, in case of Partnership firm and Limited company the N.T.N should be issued as Firm/Company name, as the Case may be.

  10. Similarly in case of Partnership the concern shall have to produce copy of Partnership deed along with Form “H”. Its is also clarified that Form “A” is not the requirement for the purpose of registration of membership.

  11. Whereas if the applicant is Limited company then in that case it will have to produce all Directors signed deed which is a must at all costs. And they shall have to provide a copy of Registration under Company Act Registration of the Government along with a copy of Memorandum and article of Association of the concerned firm.

  12. Copies of the National Identity Cards in respect of the Proprietor /Partners / Directors shall have to be provided. Similarly the following

  13. Number of Photographs shall have to be supplied with the application Form as per following Formula.

  14.  Proprietor Ship: 2 Passport Size and one 1X1 or zero size.

  15.  Partnership: - The Managing Partner shall have to produce as above, while the other Partners shall have to produce one photograph each individually, If a partner is desirous for an identity Card of the Association, he will have to provide an other photograph 1X1 for the purpose.

  16. The payment of fee shall be the foremost condition for the approval of Membership, Renewal and other such cases as well. The Membership Form Fee is Pak Rupees 300/-, After Approval of Membership Application, membership Certificate Fee will be Pak Rupees 1200/-  with Recommendation Letter of Pak Rupees 1500/- - (Only in fresh cases). Association Identity Card fee will be Pak Rupees. 200/- for each Member/Card will be charged for News Letter per annum.  The fee will be changed time to time by the approval of Executive Committee as and when deemed necessary.

  17. It is expedient to add that the Executive Committee or Scrutiny Committee or Chairman of the Association reserve the rights and powers to ask for any additional document at any time for their record and satisfaction from the concerned applicant.

  18.  In case of application for Membership if he (Applicant) is a Government Servant he shall not be eligible for the issuance of Membership in any case. In case of wrong and fake statement by the applicant if detected at any stage, the Association’s authorized official shall cancel the Membership accordingly.

  19. If an Applicant is found convicted by a court of law at a later stage the Association shall be authorized to withdraw/ cancel his Membership accordingly.

  20. It is to clarify that Chairman Standing Committee is fully competent to call an intending Applicant for interview for his satisfaction.

  21.  Membership scrutiny Committee is empowered to recommend or not to recommend the application for Membership of an applicant for registration. However, any recommendation made by the Membership Scrutiny Committee shall be subject to approval by the Executive Committee whose decision shall be final.

  22.  In case of Annual renewal of Membership a photocopy of old Membership shall be provided, by the applicant. Similarly in pursuance of the Director Trade Organization order No. 5(2)/97-TO-1 Dated 24 April 1997 Government of Pakistan Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad, the Membership of the Association shall be for a period of one year, renewable on furnishing proof of filing of a return of Income Tax under the income Tax  Ordinance ,  1979  or  Statement  under  Section        143 B/115(4) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 for the latest preceding assessment year by the Member.

  23. It is deemed expedient to clarify that if an applicant of Membership applies for new membership certificate during the financial year before its closing, the certificate requested for shall be issued for the remaining period and not for the whole year.

  24. The Membership Scrutiny Committee is competent to issue Provisional Membership Certificate to an applicant for registration with the express approval in writing of the Chairman of the Association. In case of non-availability of the Chairman, the provisional Certificate may be issued by the Membership Scrutiny Committee but the Secretary of the Association Shall be bound to bring it to the notice of the Chairman as soon as he is available and without any delay. 

  25. It is clarified that the issuance of Provisional Membership Certificate is a privilege for the facility of an applicant for the time being only. The Executive Committee has the ultimate power of decision for issuance or otherwise of Provisional Membership Certificate. However, while making its decision in this regard the Executive Committee shall invariably take into consideration the recommendation of the Chairman/Members of the Scrutiny Committee.

  26.  In the event of indulgence of a member of the Association in anti-state activities, Anti Association activities, trafficking of drugs, he shall be liable to be dealt with in accordance with the rules and regulation of the Association.

  27. In case of rejection of an application for enrolment as member no further application from the same Applicant shall be entertained for a period of one year from the date of such rejection as per Clause 7 of the Memorandum and Article of Association.   

  28. A firm or company shall not be entitled to simultaneously retain the membership of more than three different types of trade bodies as specified in Clauses (b) to (d) of subsection (2) of Section 3 of the Trade Organizations Ordinance, 1961.
